Game Discussion ep. 2. discusses the potential weaknesses of Square Enix’s approach to shift from turn-based combat to real-time combat for the new Final Fantasy XVI. My doubts are specifically based on the claims of Naoki Yoshida and the company’s priorities to sell more copies of FF16 to the non-RPG fans. Moreover, I remember a previous case, when Square tried to sell the game to the new target audience and they’ve failed.
